Hoppy Dance initial test release

New Book Release

Hoppy Dance released to test!

Author John Rehg has released We do the Hoppy Dance, a children’s book, using HP MagCloud (now part of Blurb), as a test of their printing a saddle-stitched product.

You can buy it here. This includes a free iPad download!

This book breaks new ground for the author, and combines a children’s book with a coloring book, illustrated by his brother, graphic artist Paul Rehg.

Appropriate for 3-6 year olds. (Older children may enjoy the words more than coloring.)

Book Details

When you look at many children’s books today, they promote what they are trying to teach the children. The author has felt that some of these ‘lessons’ are made too obvious, and wonders if a more subtle approach might engage the child and teach them without preaching to them.

We do the Hoppy Dance introduces the concept of left and right to the child. It uses rhyme and repetition to improve the child’s memorization skills, and the activities (hopping, and coloring the drawings) can help improve a child’s physical coordination.*

Additional versions will be released in the near future.

More about Ani and Her Book

She had a book signing last night, and has additional appearances scheduled in and around Gulfport, FL. Check out her website for more details. She was a lot of fun to work with, and I think you’ll find John Carroll’s artwork for the interior to be very interesting. Thanks also to the photographer, Gregory Smith, for the front and back cover.

Reading Festival Success

Reading Festival in downtown Bradenton a success

The reading festival organized by FWA (Florida Writers Association) was a success for our table. Authors Bria Burton and J Gerard Michaels both sold multiple copies of their books. Bria sold her new Lance and Ringo Tails book and Michaels sold sets of his Cord Wheaton Saga, book 1: Zombie Origins and book 2: Zombie Menace. Both authors read from their books during the festival, which ran Jan 10 – 11.

Connections

It’s more than just about sales, though, and we are also excited about the many connections we made with other publishers, marketers, and authors. We hope to hear from them and reach out to them in the near future.

Some of them include Cheyenne from On Line Binding, Michael Butler from Next Century Publishing, and Matt Peters from Beating Windward Press. As we are committed to providing you with the service you need, it’s important to know who we can send you to for those services we don’t provide.

FOLLOW THE AUTHORS

If you want to follow our authors on Twitter:

Bria is the more active Twitter user, while John, writing as J Gerard Michaels, is just getting his Twitter fingers wet.

You can also follow them on their author websites / blogs:

Bria’s:  (her blog about her pets, and her author website)

www.lanceandringotails.blogspot.com

www.briaburton.com

J Gerard Michaels:  (where he writes exclusively about zombies)

www.jgerardmichaels.com

Both are actively working on their next offerings. We hope you find their work enjoyable and engaging. Stay tuned as we add more authors to our family.

We thank FWA for putting on the reading festival and extending the reach of our authors. This first ever FWA reading festival, open to the public, gave them the opportunity to read (and sing) in public, to sign some books and meet new people. And that is what a festival is all about.

John

Happy Holidays! Upcoming Events

Happy Holidays!

We wish you the happiest holidays this year, and thank you for all you’ve done for us. Our little venture really took off this past year, after ‘resting’ the first couple of years, as we published 7 new titles in paperback (+1 assisted), and over a dozen ebooks (a mix of short stories and full-length books), in an eclectic mix of genre’s: memoir, spirituality and faith, and horror/humor:zombies.

We hope next year will see continued contributions to our readers and authors, and soon-to-be authors.  Our misson: to provide you with a good read, an inspirational lift, laughter, and the thrill of holding that first book in your hands.

New books from jg michaels, Brigitte D. Moore

New Books released

It’s with great excitement that I announce two new books now available from two very different ends of the writing spectrum. One is from one of our long-time authors and one from a brand new one.

Brigitte D. Moore’s first book

Finding Home: My Journey from Post-War Germany to America

First, welcome Brigitte D. Moore, who’s memoir is now available on CreateSpace here, and will be available on Amazon here late this week or early next.  Her cover is shown on the books page. Her book spans her life up to age 21, when she immigrated to America, and brings to vivid life the hardships endured by people caught in the post-WW II tension between East and West.

Ms. Moore will be setting up her website this week and we’ll add a link to that when it becomes available. We’re happy to have her publish through us and say, “Welcome aboard!”

j gerard michaels second book

Zombie Menace: The Cord Wheaton Saga – Book 2

The second full-length book from Mr. Michaels is a compilation of episodes 8 through 11 of his ebook series, The Cord Wheaton Saga. This set of episodes races through the action as the detective fights to save his own life, and the life of the girl he loves. Set in Florida, the action takes place between St. Petersburg and Tallahassee as the zombie problem spreads across the state.

Zombie Menace is available on CreateSpace here, and Amazon later this week or early next. It is also available on Kindle here. (You can get to the print version when it becomes active from this link.)

You can visit his website for more information or to follow him. All told this year, Michaels’ has come out with 2 new books and 7 ebook episodes. We can’t wait to see where this story turns next!

Note: This post will be updated once the Amazon links become active.

Half Undead available today

J Gerard Michaels’ 10th episode in The Cord Wheaton Saga, Half Undead, has been published today and is available on Amazon here. It will be a free download this weekend, 9-28 to 9-29, 2013.

We hope you enjoy it. Mr. Michaels has plans to write an 11th episode that’s long enough to create Book 2 from episodes 8-11. We’ll see, but he’s hard at work on it.

One thing different about The Cord Wheaton Saga is that the author begins at the patient zero level (the first infection) and carries the story through. After 10 episodes, the reader can see the looming apocalypse, but it’s not here yet, and one is left to wonder, can Detective Wheaton stop it?

Here’s the book cover.
